The Fish Festival on Sakhalin will begin with a tasting of traditional dishes. In addition to the traditional main dishes - soup and cakes, serves seafood of local producers. All is for you: shelves and smoked and fresh fish.
The large-scale event will cover several cities of the Island - Korsakov, Aniva, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Okha.

The most famous gastronomic attraction of Sakhalin Island is an oyster. This species is considered the largest in the World. Some of specimens reach one and a half kilograms, but in most cases the average oyster weight is 500-600 grams. Meat of Sakhalin oysters has a unique taste: from salted to sweet. They are produced in Pacific Ocean depth, and they are of high quality, unlike artificially grown.
You can also try the scallops and shrimp. Popular red caviar, and less well-known, but very tasty, sea urchin roe. It is consumed with fresh lemon juice and olive oil, but you can eat and pickled product.
